An amusing and embarrasing bug :-

I have created a site with 273 photographs :-

http://www.hobartphoto.org.au/e_engine/index.php

It has been operating well for about 3 months. Today I uploaded three new image files. In the process one image has been converted to what looks like a negative. All sizes look like a negative, thumbs, microthumbs, 100%, 50% and 25%.

The photo has the title "Bridge Date" and the link to it at 50% is :-

http://www.hobartphoto.org.au/e_engine/photo.php?photo=1112&u=2730|0|...

The blue area should be a sandstone colour. The light fawn area should be shadows.

I deleted the image from the EE database and tried again. Same effect !

Amazing !!

But I would like to fix it. All the other 272 photos are fine.

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Steve, Hobart, Tasmania.

Was the original image made with different settings or different software than others? What resize method you use (GD/Imagemagick)?

I have just realised what was wrong. It was a CMYK image. I have converted it to RGB, reloaded it and all is now ok.

Sorry if I've wasted anybody's time. It certainly had it's amusing aspects.

I collect JPEG images from our photo club members and post them on the net using EE. This one is from our club president. I guess he owes me a beer !!

Thanks for your help, Pekka. Your comment about image differences gave me the clue to look a little deeper.

Thank you also for a great product. Donation is on its way, being a club I have to get "committee approval" !!

Regards,

Steve, Hobart, Tasmania.
