Photography is my only pathological addiction; hopefully it won't drive me to something worse With all that glass I'd be surprised if you could afford anything else! :D
Great pics but I'd crop a bit off the right of the egret. (the BG not the bird :) )
I always drool at American shots of ospreys. They're so rare here in the UK. I visited California once and saw an osprey in a tree in a parking lot. I was gobsmacked that people walked right past it and ignored it. In the UK it'd have half the country's birdwatchers round it in no time.

These look wonderful Paul. I've never even seen a picture of this Egret. It's a slick looking bird. Very nice exposure on the Osprey. I like the feather detail on this SHARP image.

Nice job Paul, love the reddish egret. I am going to re-visit Bolsa Chica soon. These were taken with your 500mm with the 1.4 TC?

Sure, its o[pen to the public, go to the intersection of Pacific Coast Hyw and Warner Rd. There are 2 parking areas, one on Warner and one on PCH.
Thanks for the comments.

Thanks, I postponed retirement 6 months to get it, I figure I can sell it when I'm too old to lift it. I once saw a redtail hawk pick up a rat in front of a church in Pittsburg on a busy Ave. and nobody noticed, go figure.
