I have a cover sheet for my contract that covers a number of things, and I go over it with couples during the consultation.

- Contact information
- Location and duration of wedding and reception
- Size of bridal party
- Wedding colors
- The couple's needs in terms of wedding photography
- Desired package
- Must have formal shots
- Name of designee who will serve as a photographers "guide" for the day and who will identify/locate specific persons who should be in posed shots.
- Name of wedding coordinator and other vendors
- Name of officiant
- Whether or not flash photography is permitted in the church/ whether or not photographer is permitted in the church during ceremony

That covers most of it, I think.

A lot of my meetings with clients are to get a feel for them, and vice versa. Lots of off-topicish conversation to see if we are a successful match. Wedding photography is more than just getting the job in my opinion, its about creating a connection tyt both you and the client will appreciate. :)

I agree - I quite often get off topic :D . I talk more in detail about what the packages include at the initial meeting and how we work as a team. Then the week of the wedding we discuss timings, location of photos, desired types of photos etc.

- Chat, get to know them a bit, get them comfortable with me
- Day plan (in great detail)
- Requests for specific photos
- I ask them for a list of group photos
- I tell people they can bring photos along to show me what they like, sometimes. But they hired me for my style, so I don't always do this, mainly if i'm asked.
- I go over "after the wedding" stuff, regarding proofs etc.
