Yes, too much sharpening. Background is not too bad except for the highchair (?) behind her head.

To get it to display, remove the spaces before and after the [Img] tags. BUT FIRST, save that monster a little smaller. The file is TOO BIG. In PHOTOSHOP (or elements) select "Save For Web" and under "Size" put in 25% and save with a new name - I usually add an "S" to the name for Small. Then upload it to whatever server this is on, replacing this file. That way it will load a lot faster and those of us on Dialup will be very happy.

By the way, cute kid, very photogenic, and seems to like posing. You are going to have a lot of good ones to post as time goes on.

I replaced the original image with a smaller one and did no sharpening on the image - Man it lost a lot of quality

John,

I agree with Radtech on image size.

It seems like your image link is still 2048 wide. Did you edit your original to 800? And then replace the big file on your server? It takes forever for us dial-up guys to load. (I canceled the image load to post this reply.) Sept. 20 6 a.m.

Sorry about that - I thought I fixed it - 20K now

John,

Lookin' good now with reduced pixel count. Thanks (from Dial-up Don).

Good photo. Good expression. Good pose. Much better than "Smile and say cheese." :)

What focal length lens?

Wow - Didn't realize I was shooting at 1/20th of a sec - Gotta love IS :)

if you place object just in front of the wall, it would be much more eye pleasing from simpler background, also a fill-in flash should be applied to light her face.

Wow, what a cutie! :)

I'd like to see a little more light in her face - maybe a reflector would help (I got a set of cheap 'reflectors' from the auto parts store - silver fabric window shades for the front window :D )

Getting catch lights in her eyes would make her seem much more alive, like in the second photo.

The flash helps provide better lighting. The pose on the first post is better.

Just my opinion.

With respect to the first post, 1/20 sec. at f6.7? The ISO must have been 50 or less. It looks like a bright sunny day, even though in shadow.
