I've heard that there is a hack available for the digital rebel. What does it do? Can it be reversed if necessary? Thanks for your time!

Do a search on this forum for 300D HACK you will find the old post on this topic.

The hack adds some highly desirable functions to the camera, such as flash exposure compensation, mirror lock-up and the ability to select one-shot focus instead of relying on the camera to decide which focus mode to use on each shot. While you can revert back to the original firmware at any time, there are some questions as to what happens if the camera dies (and won't power on) with the hack installed and has to be sent to Canon for waranty repairs. I have installed and used the hack without problems, as have many other members of this forum.

If you are new to the camera and/or photography you might want to get comfortable with the camera as is and what the new functions do before you try it.

You should search the forum for this as there is a lot of previous discussion that members really don't want to repeat. If you still have questions you can post a more specific inquiry.

Enjoy!!
