Can I adjust the depth of field in manual mode and if so how? I've lost my manual and awaiting a new one...my dog didn't eat it.

I don't have an answer to your question, but a lot of manuals are available online from the manuf. website, checked there?

Depth of field is not a setting on your camera. It is a function of aperture, lens focal length, and distance to subject.

ohenry is right (apart from leaving out the circle of confusion), but other things being equal, if you are stood with a camera and a lens taking pictures, the thing to remember:

- Wider aperture (smaller number) = less DOF, background blurrier

- Smaller aperture (bigger number) = more DOF, background sharper

Roger...as I was typing that, I knew I was missing one element and for the life of me I couldn't think of it at the time.
