I first posted minimally cleaned up pics of this '55 Chevy a few weeks ago here:

This is the original shot.

Today I got ambitious & worked on it a bit more. Here's a cleaned up version.

Just noticed: I knocked down those reflections under the door twice to about 40%. Looks like they need to go down to about 90%!
EDIT: This is wierd! In preview they were brighter than in the original pic. Now the submitted pic shows them much darker! I give up!

Nice work there. I'd like to try that with some of my car show photos.

that is beautiful.

man across the road had 'something' very like it ....for many years
he was from Scotland originally and brought it over when he moved here
he worshipped the ground it drove on

I just say it was 'something' very like your beauty in the picture here.
vauxhall had a car like it I think , am not sure at all
..so forget I said that

edit later :
just remembered ..
my neighbour's car was either an ' austin cambridge' saloon
or a ' morris oxford ' saloon ...
memory is only half slipping

Wow, nice PS work...I was just hacking at this pic a little while ago...not your level of work, but I thought I would try.

Thanks everyone! I think I got that out of my system & I'll save the rest of the hard stuff for this winter. (Today I actually did some work on the garage door that I was avoiding this weekend!)

4walls: Pretty good job! Car show pics suffer from the poor quality of the light in those buildings... hundreds of little reflections in the wrong places & big, black holes of shadow also in the wrong places. It's almost impossible to make them look as good as they do outside under late PM light.

Thanks, Scottes.

After thought to 4walls:
Here's a "secret" to cleaning up a car - select the area you don't want to affect, like the door seam & the chrome strip. Then invert the selection. Work in small bits at a time. Have fun!

Thanks for the tip...I have been using masks to work the areas I want
NOT to show through. Not sure if that is the best way or not, but it allows
me to paint the areas to hide and if I go too far, I can unpaint them.
Takes a bit of patience though.

A selection IS a mask, can be saved as a mask, but a LOT quicker to make. I tried 'simple' masks once & found them to be a PITA.
