Hiya,

I took this shot, although I am unsure of what it is. It was very small. I think it was around 1-2mm in body length, but that was taken from measuring my finger under a magnifying glass compared to the image on the screen.
Still, it was somewhere in that region, and I believe it came out of a tree, when I went beating this morning.

Lovely shots- pretty sure it's an aphid although I can't see the twin exhaust pipes they have on the rear of the abdomen.

I do not see any evidence of cornicals either but I would suggest only, that it may be a species of adelgid. Nice image :D

Thanks on the ID. I will have a search on the internet, and see if anything turns up.

Nice one Ken- never heard of adelgids before :)- seems they only inhabit fir trees.
