Lovely pigeon image, and the others are nice too. The Shovelers could do with a bit of lifting in PP though.

It's not good to get anthropomorphic, but he/she seemed quite a jolly bird. Very calm about me waving a big white lens at it.

You're quite right. This was the best of a bad bunch, and as I hope to be back at the same site on Friday - with improved weather - hopefully I'll get some Shovellers lifted by nature.
Appreciate the comments.

I agree that the shovellers have lost it somewhat but I like the rest. I think the pigeon is a town pigeon, i.e. a domestic bird gone feral. These were all bred originally from rock doves then repeatedly cross bred to get the various forms. When going feral, eventually over several generations they revert back to their original look so this one is possibly only a late generation townie, or even someone's lost bird.

Me too. Perrygate Avenue.
The shoveller was taken at Mere Sands which is at a place called Rufford. Just north of Martin Mere.
The rest were at Redesmere which is just off the A34 near Capesthorne Hall (just north of Congleton)
