On my web, www.roine.nu (Sharpen) I have put tree images, convertet/processed by:
Pekka Linjear (http://photography-on-the.net/D30/linear/)
LPBatch by Fred Mranda (Normal saturation and sharpening)
JR:s action http://www.kolumbus.fi/jouko.ruuskanen/JR_Sharpen.zip

The images are full size jpg (Abt 3mb big)

The color was an issue and the saturation. I find that Freds action is less sharpen than JR (due to the action) and the saturation was a bit faden in Freds action.
The sharpening can bee seen very well at the trees sticking out of the water.

van der Windt has answered several question and has a site showing more differences ( http://www.gamesunlimited.nl/ select sharpening, and Photoshop, select under the thumbnails there)

Pekkas action is for the D30, I was using normal sharpening and HQ

roine,

Irrespective of the quality of the sharpening, one thing I don't like about JR's action (and the same applies to Fred's CS Pro) is that they only work with 8-bit images.

I would rather not throw those bits away, if I can help it. :)

Hello

I think, for sure, that Freds batch sharpen works in 16 bits.

Hello,

LPbatch works in 16-bit, but CSPRO does convert to 8-bit.

From your tests, Roine, should I understand that Pekka's LS works well with the D60 ?

Thanks,
Pierre

Are you guys talking about 8-bits or 16-bits _per_color_channel? Or are you talking about 8-bits or 16-bits total per pixel?

I deal with all digital images as 24-bits per pixel (8-bits per color channel) or else 48-bits per pixel (16-bits per color channel). Prior to November, I could never see why anybody needed more than 24-bits per pixel. Now I can see it on the screen, especially with severe editing.
