Try dpreview's printer forum, he writes there often. See

I have "Profile Prism" and get very good results creating profiles for the different papers I use with my Epson 1270 printer. Trying to create a profile for the D30 was a different story. I don't know of any *good* profiles that were created for the D30. If you have PhotoShop I suggest you check out Pekka's LinearSharpen which is a PhotoShop action file that converts linear tiff to non linear and in the process corrects color which negates the *need* for a D30 profile. :D

You can read about LS at :

If you have PhotoShop v7 I also suggest you check out Roger Cavanagh's LinearSharpen Menu. You can read about it at:

Dale,

Thanks for the plug. :) Just wanted to clarify that PS7 is not a requirement for LSM. There's just one option (and not a central feature, at that) that uses PS7 scripting.

You can find free profile software for digicams and scanners at www.aim-dtp.net. This is a program embedded in Microsoft Excel that works with a Kodak Q-60 calibration target. Called XlProfiler. It works, limited only by the consistency and lighting with which you shoot the target. For me, since I don't have studio lighting, it worked better for my scanners (flatbed and 35mm) than camera.
