Welcome to the forum - pretty good for first try. If you have some photoediting software then I think it it could do with a bit of lightening- shots with snow in often underexpose like this.

Hiya 01momogti,

Welcome to the forum, nice first attempt, if that S5 is as good as the S3 I had ( should be better ) then get yourself a Lensmate adapter & the Raynox DCR-250 Super Macro Filter, go to
http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/order_S2_1.html

& you'll find all required there.

I found Lensmate most helpful when I started out with my S3 IS.

Happy shooting
Cheers for now
Mark

There's not enough contrast between the subject and the background. They kinda run together. The key with a macro shot is to make sure the subject really stands out from the background. The key with a lot of photography is to pay as much attention to the background as the subject. You have to remember that we see in 3D but things get flattened in a camera.

yep, she is helpful! my lack of knowledge about cameras, led us to some misunderstanding (on my part 100%), and she got me a better understanding of how things work...)
thanks for advice Bandit!
i agree that the 250 would get better results, the other msn202, seems to me more for a gnats @$$...am i allowed to say that? lol
