First post for me on this forum. Finally got outdoors last week with my "new" Canon 10D. This is a vertical crop from a horizontal image. I'm not sure about the oof branch on the lower right. My wife likes it but I found it a little distracting. What do you all think?

I like it kkovac. The OOF stuf around the bird certainly focuses the attention on the bird's head. I'd try flipping the image horizontally, making the bird look to the right. This would make the implied motion of the image left to right and, I think, give you a stronger composition. Nice shot.
