View Full Version : Painful Wedding...

I did a wedding that was 4 hours away for $1,000. I stayed there about 5-6 hours.

In any case prior to the wedding I always talk to the bride. I finished booking with the mother and had the brides contact. I emailed her, called her 5 times, and then asked the mother if she talked to her to please contact me. I never got to speak with her.

The church was nice, but rained and the wedding took place at night for some reason. Beautiful windows were now black because there were no natural light. That was saddening.

After the wedding we did formals and I was being rushed along becasue the bride and groom were needed at the ceremony. Sitting in a chair and telling me to hurry up isn't very productive. We finished all of the formals and I decided that they could go to the reception and I would get photos of them afterwards while guests are chit chatting. It never happened because shortly thereafter they got in a car and left. It was only about 7:30pm as I recall.

So the problem is that no bride and groom pictures were really taken. Yet I honestly am a bit 50/50 on who's fault it is. How do you leave and not realise that the photos weren't taken? Bah!

My tip: Don't do a wedding without talking to the bride. If they won't call you threaten that you won't work for them!! :(

During my last wedding I had a crowd of 5 people follow me with the bride and groom around. Yelling at them during my "just bride and groom" time... talk about aggervating when I need their full attention. I need some people control skill.

In this case, theirs I would think, because they didn't return your calls or make any effort. I always go over the timeline with the B&G a month out from their wedding, then meet with them in the week leading up to it. That seems to work well :)
