OK, it's only part of a cover  , but I have been offered $50 plus photo credit plus a free book for use of one of my theatre shots. It will be one of six images on the cover of a voice training book. My shot is in the lower right hand corner showing four singers from a community theatre production of Annie Get Your Gun. I'm flattered that they want one of my shots, but I have no idea what these things are worth. I'm probably going to accept their offer as given, but would appreciate your feedback.

congrats!!! however, little help can be provided regarding the payment, i think you need to keep in mind about usage of the shot, ie how many issues they tend to sell, and charge them accordingly.
wish i could help more

Also, I can see it says 7 excercises, but there are only 6 images.... I know most people wouldn't try to make this connection, but i lean heavily towards the subliminal side, besides, It's a good way to insert one more of your shots! And congratulations!

Congrats on being published Jim. The amount paid not withstanding, do you have a release from the four that will be featured? Have you discussed this with them? I'd be afraid that one of them might stumble onto this at the Music/Book store, then all of a sudden feel they should be paid fortunes for being on the cover of this book.

I'll check into that but I think the theatre has all the actors sign a release allowing them to use any and all photos for publicity/promotion. They already have several of my shots in their brochures. This may be different, though since big $$$ is involved. I know these actors well (the guy on the left is a Canon photo buddy with his own video/photo business) and they will be tickled to be on a book cover.

And wrangle a cover for each of the singers in your shot too (and a spare for yourself).
Congratulations on the cover.
