Question - I was recently shooting in my garage with some strobes and when I kneeled down to shoot, I was shocked through my camera connected to the sync cord. If I am standing (in shoes) or on the carper, no shock.
Is it possible the synch cord is the issue? Its a cheapo that came with the set. Just looking to see if anyone else has had that experience.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Double check to make sure the outlet your strobes are plugged into is properly grounded.

I did, I even had my neighbor electrician come over and look at the outlet and he found nothing. I think I will try to get a beefier sync cord and see if that helps.

Seems like you have some sort of Ground fault. In the case of a sync cord which plugs into a 2-prong socket on the flash which resembles an AC outlet for USA households, simply turning the plug around 180 degrees can put the ground side on the correct side. If your flash does not have a synch socket like that, but the plug can only go in one direction, then the problem is elsewhere...and getting a beefier cord is not the answer, if the hot side of the circuit is going to the ground side of the camera!

That can't be good for your camera, or you.

You need to get that set up checked by a specialist - spend some cash and stay safe. It's probably not a job to burden a friend with. you want someone with liability insurance!
electricity kills - don't take chances.
