SW Michigan POTN Get Together!

Hey SW Michiganders! (People from outside SW Michigan are welcome, but it's a big state and I personally would rather meet somewhere this side)

I noticed quite a few comments in the people from Michigan thread about getting together, and it sounds like it'd be a lot of fun. I've never taken part in one, as I'm fairly new here, but would be more than happy to help organize things.

I know several people, like myself, are in the Grand Rapids area, but I'd also be willing to drive some. The zoo could be a lot of fun, as it is open year round, and lately the weather has been comfortable. I also believe there's some sort of Orchid exhibit coming to Meijer Gardens.

If anyone is interested, or has ideas of places/things we could shoot, and can recommend some dates, drop a post here!

Good morning. I would love to GT and do some shooting.. I am fairly new but I am learning a lot. I just started a photography class a couple days ago at the institute of art in Kalamazoo. I am sure I will learn some but it is always good to get get out and do some shooting.. Let me know where and when.. You can just message me through POTN..
SWMCCC (http://www.swmccc.org/)has once a month meetings... I go to the one in Grand Rapids on the 3rd Sat every month.. Let me know if you or anyone would want to go.. It starts around 7:00pm.. They have competitions and will go out on photo shoots.. They have an AWESOME summer weekend session that starts Thur. July 24th and goes till Sun July 27th. I have not been to the summer session yet but I have heard really good things about it..

So anyways let me know when and where you want to get together..

Grand Rapids here too! I am pretty much a self-taught (from books and the internet, and taking pictures most of my life) amateur. I would love to meet up with you guys for a shoot, I am sure that I could learn alot!

I am pretty much limited to weekends (I work full-time and class during the week), but I think it would be fun to set up something!

I am willing drive a bit too if anyone knows a good location. I wonder what the lakeshore is like in the winter? :)

I too would be interesting in getting together with a group of west michigan people. Grand Haven and Holland light houses are pretty col when there is a bunch of snow and ice.
I also work full time and shoot some high school sports for West Ottawa High school as an amature photographer so weekends are when I would be available. Miejer Gardens is pretty cool. I went there this fall and it was amazing.

Anyone have some dates I am looking at the 2nd or 3rd weekend in Feb as I have a few things on the fire.

I would be able to meet at Meijer Garden on Feb 16th around 1:00pm At 7:00 pm I go to the swmccc photoclub meeting.. Or I could meet up with anyone on Sunday the 17th if they wanted to go to one of the light houses...

Let me know if that works for anyone...
