I have been really worried about the lock up issue and I have yet to have a single problem. I have read about all of the problems on this board and others in which people have had the lock up when the did different things. I went out of my way today and tried my best to make the thing freeze, I just couldn't do it. I left it on for 30 minutes, it did go into sleep mode and it didn't have a problem waking up. I also swapped lenses a bunch of times while the camera was on. I used a generic battery and I filled a 512mb card up without a single glitch. Si I am not sure if there are a bunch of bad ones out there, but I am convinced that they are not all bad and that I got a good one.

Alos, I have gone outside and took a few photos and found them not to be that soft at all. My first reaction was that they were quite soft but you could blast them with USM, however, I am sure thatthe low light played a factor with the softness. The ones outside today with bright sunlight barley needed sharpening at all.

I will really put this thing to the test on Saturday as I will be shooting a wedding. This will be a great time to really see how it is as I was hired to be a backup and not doing this one by myself. We will see...Dean

Other than my memory card issue early on, (I say early) I've probably shot around 750 shots without any problems at all.

Well I did accidentally hit the back wheel and crank the EC to +1 2/3 and it was too bright outside to notice it in the viewfinder, so I shot about 40 shots overexposed    . It was fixed and luckily it was just a casual airshow, so no harm done. Best place to learn!

I'm used to it not being that easy on the DRebel!

I haven't actually read about any lockups on this forum.. I have only read people mentioning it.. like in this thread,.. but no actual instances.

:D :D

For your benefit,, I will repeat it...

Left the cam on overnight by mistake. In the morning it would not wake up. I cut off it and back on, wouldn't come on. I changed battery and it worked. Thought it was a dead battery. The battery charged in 5 min :? This mirrors what is being said on the Ron Galbraith forum.. So far it has only happened once. The other ways mentioned to get a lock up was changing CF mem or the lens. One fellow over there is keeping a spread sheet on hang ups.
