I have dabbled with the idea of selling photos for some time now, reading what I can, here and in other forums.I have also submitted maybe 50 photos so far to various stockphoto sites, with no luck whatsoever.I mainly do land, seascapes and wildlife.
What would be your recomendations as far as semiprofessional sites? I have seen a few that are around $100 /year,but don't really know what to expect.
Could you suggest a few to look into that you have had good luck with?

I suggest a search of the forum. You'll get plenty of answers.

If you want the most exposure to potential clients, I'd go with Getty Images.

Ok - stop there. Who are you selling your images to? Who is your market?
People are not out there looking to buy anybody's images. They're not hunting for an image of a Johnny Rocket restaurant bathed in the afternoon sunlight. They're just not - sorry - the world doesn't work like that. Equally they're not out there looking for nice landscapes/seascapes etc. Hell, if most people want a nice picture they go to google images and make a copy of a large sized image for whatever they want. Sure - it's probably against copyright law but they'll do it anyway and their argument will be that it's viewable by all online so it's public domain.
So - before you throw any money away on hosting services (which will not sell your photos for you) you need to do two things...
Those images you have online you need to put the right search tags on in order to maximise hits.
You need to market your images. I'll give a good marketing example - Johnny Pervert gets a P&S digital camera for his birthday and uses it to take photos at the sex parties that he attends. He puts those photos onto a website that's hidden behind a payment system so that people have to pay to see the bad photos. Then he contacts some spammers and has his website sent out as spam. He gets plenty hits from Randy Andy and the Dirty Old Men - most of whom, unlike Zitface Harry the teenager have credit cards (most of them even have their own credit cards). Thus Johnny Pervert makes a handy extra income from sad people wanting to look at "real" porn.
So to recap - target, market, sell.
