What do you think about this piece? I like it, but im not sure I really like the DOF. Tell me what you think.

Well now that I think about the DOF does help one focus on the head of the gecko hmm still not sure though.

Personally, I like it. I could see it on a webpage somewhere or something like that. Maybe it's just my monitor, but it looks like the head could still use some sharpening though to make it stand out more. You could also play with the color hue some...maybe there's a better color to compliment the black and white. I don't have any problems with the DOF. It seems to work and draws attention to the face.

Both very cool. How did you achieve the edge effect?

I am not liking the colors...the shot is cool.but maybe a more contrasted B&W?

the black background works better for me. I'd like to see it as Flo suggested also.

Thanks ValB, to create the affect I made a new transparent layer and using different kinds of brushes I erased away the edges at different transparancys. I then filled in the back goround with color. Thank you also Flo and flipstyle I will try what you suggested.
