Ignore list

I went to add somebody to the ignore list. First time I ever clicked that option. I was astonished to find almost 1800 pages of names were already in there. Obviously pre-programmed. So is this the hole where spammers, booted members and other assorted demons are cast? /Dan

Edit:

I now see a danger in this. Let's say you put user jjgtpok1977 in the list. But later you decide to remove it, but cannot remember how jjgtpok1977 spelled their user name. It would be a nightmare to try and locate the user.

Is there some way to differentiate users the mods have cast there from others?

I have used the ignore list in the past but what does the master list mean? If someone is listed does that mean someone has them on an ignore list?

Must be something wrong with your profile or something. I only have one person on my ignore list. Get a mod to look into it. You shouldn't have an automatically populating ignore list.

Actually, I have 1781 pages of names. Some user names are even in a typeface I did not know I could resolve such as arabic. Some joined 2003, others joined only weeks ago.

It looks to me like a spam list or something like that. But what is curious is that by reading your replies, the list is apparently not pre-programmed into all user's accounts. /Dan
