20D Question

With the 300D and 10D, the camera stops writing to the CF card when you start to take more pictures (ie, half press the shutter button to focus).
I thought I read somewhere that the 20D will continue to write to the CF card, even when the shutter button is half pressed.
Can anyone tell me if this is true?

Indeed, that is the way it works. That's part of what makes this camera so appealing. It's always ready to shoot.

Indeed it is; this writing "in the background" really makes a difference. Even whilst taking a burst of photos in continuous shooting mode, the 20D is writing image files to the CF card as more are being taken. Wonderful. :)

I have asked the moderators about doing just that but to date have received no reply.

When I first thought I had read that the 20D could write and take pics simultaneously, that really relieved the initial anger I had at the small Raw buffer. For my type of shooting, I would choose this ability over a larger buffer any day (unless the buffer is HUGE).
I've always hated watching that orange led on my 300D flash while I waiting to take another picture.

BTW, let's take up a petition to get the mods to change DReb's name! :)
