I cracked the screen on my canon powershot SD450 and sent it to a company to get the screen fixed. They informed me that my case is damaged so they couldn't line up the mode switch with the switch on the back of the case. They said they could try to repair it by bending it back into shape but it would cost more.
I'm figuring that I'll just buy a new one. Is that a good decision?
And they offered to buy my old one to use for parts and asked how much I want for it but I really have no idea what's it worth. Any estimates?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, you can buy the new equiv SD1000 for the price of repair.
Just give a random number, try $50. You may get it.

If you have the money, I'd get the SD850IS. Very nice camera and since the 2.5" screen suites you, you don't need the 870IS.
The IS is nice and I think the images are a tad nicer. Of course that depends on how cheap you find the Sd1000
