Hi everyone, I took this picture the other day of our last rose for summer. It was taken just as the rain began to fall. I like the way the Yellow Rose works with the White Mums and I kept everything slightly out of focus to make it have a mysterious look. Hope you like it.

I like it, but, for me, the rose gets lost in the mums. And, unfortunately, the rain on the petals gets completely lost. I can see why it appealed to you, peaceful - quiet, but it seems to miss the "mysterious" that you mention. Some time ago, I saw someone here post a similar shot and (s)he used Photshops "Lighting Effects" filter and the presentation was stunning.
Thinking that that might work here, I took the liberty and this is the results. Granted a completely different feel, but you may want to keep this in mind for later.

Hello emilbev,
I like the shot, but I must say that I think it would have done much better with the rose in sharp focus and the mums out of focus slightly. That way, the rain drops would have stood out much better as well. But as I said, it's still a nice shot. Good flower shots are not easy. I almost took a good one once, but then I realized that it wasn't really that great. :D
Best wishes,
