a ladybug! during winter! aah!!

so i took this opportunity to try my MP-E 65, and man, it took a while to adjust to such an unique lens. Had to try different lighting.

below are some 4.5-5X magnification crops, hope you like them.

*no post processing, just crop, resize, and minor sharpening*

Lovely closeups illusionest :) - esp like #3 :)

MJ - Just as with natural light photography and using EC , there are some situations where with flash photography you will have to adjust FEC to get a correct exposure no matter what diffuser you are using. Unless the main subject virtually fills the frame (as it does nearly in these shots) a light background will cause the subject to underexpose slightly and a dark background (or no close background) will cause the subject to overexpose slightly. AFAIK the camera tries to expose for an 18% greycard so if the main area is brighter than this the camera will reduce the exposure and vice versa. You can overcome this with some cameras in by using spot metering on the subject but using flash on a canon camera defaults the exposure metering to evaluative so it exposes the picture for the whole frame.

@ LordV, thanks, and yes, exposure differs for different shots.

@Cactuspic, thanks, its quite an interesting lens, very different from my usual shooting style. Still getting used to it! But its a very difficult and fun lens! :D
