I'm in the market for a 512 compact flash card for my S40. I was wondering which of these two cards are better or if in fact they are the same. The two cards are the;

1) SanDisk SDCFH-512-784 512MB CompactFlash Ultra II Card (currently on sale for $119 CDN at Future Shop)

or

2) Lexar 512MB 12X CompactFlash Memory Card (currently on sale for $89.99 = After $25 Savings and $25 Mail-In Rebates from $139.99)

I know that the Lexar is cheaper with the mail in rebate but If the ScanDisk is a better performer then I'd opted for that one.

I use the camera sparingly, mostly for b-days and trips.

Rob Galbraith's (http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007) CF database says the CF-computer transfer rate for the SanDisk Ultra II is better than 10 MB/sec, which is faster than the Lexar 80x CF cards he tested. What that's going to mean in your camera, I can't say. The limiting factor could be either the camera or the card.

The limiting factor WILL be your camera in this case.

You may want to save your $$ and not bother with the faster cards as the smaller pocket cameras just don't write fast enough to take advantage.
