Has anyone had good results mounting a polarizer filter on an A720 or 710? Lensemate does not make an adapter to fit. Canon tech service reccommends against using the Canon adapter. They worry that the lens might bump up against the filter when extended and maybe other issues.
Digital Concepts makes a very inexpensive filter kit for the A720. I don't think I would use the filters but maybe the adapter. The inside of the adapter appears to be silver and the kit is sold as 52mm while the Canon adapter is 55mm.
Any ideas?

I have an A640 and the adapter from canon, its long enough that it won't touch. It also fits on my fathers lower model (can't remember the #) as the power shot series was pretty universal I'm finding.
My family bought me a 1.7x tele converter for xmas as well as a filter. Works no problems.
From canon the adapter is only like $25.

Thanks for the advice. I ordered the adapter and a good filter. It just came today and the fit is fine. I guess the Canon people can't really go out on a limb and recommend a setup that isn't part of their line. Now if we ever get some sun I can try it out.

My only dislike about the adapter is that its plastic. The bf's one for his S3 IS is metal :( So needless to say I'm terrified to break it. lol

Plastic isn't always a bad thing. I bet 95% of the camera you're putting it on is plastic.
