I usually use FEC (Flash Exposure Compensation) mode for my 580EX flashes. If you press one more time on the Select/Set button it will appear the item FEB on the flash screen (Flash Exposure Bracketing with 3 small rectangle sign) and it's a bit harder to get back to the normal mode FEC. By the instruction manual, FEB can do three shots while automatically changing the flash output for each shot up to +- 3 stops.

I've used camera bracketing but never used this FEB mode for flash. Could someone tell me how to use this mode? What effects and advantages it will give? Pictures would be welcome.

It works the same way as AEB except that it varies the flash exposure while keeping all the other camera settings fixed. Just make sure you give the flash a chance to charge up before you hit the shutter button again.
