...for lack of a better name. I like the tree so much I decided to leave the
whole thing in there. Cropping it saves space but...what the heck; you only
live once. I shot about 90 pics today in and around Batsto Village in New
Jersey's Wharton State Forrest, which is in the heart of the N.J. pinelands.
All were shot using a tripod, and I think these are the best quality photos
I've ever taken. Don't like them--foobar :P . :)

Would like your opinions, please. If they suck, well, I'll just have to shoot myself. Thanks for any feedback.

Rick,

I like it. Good photo.

Minor detail: What is the black on the roof just to the right of the shed? It almost looks like a shadow on the roof. Is the tree limb actually resting on the edge of the roof and casting a shadow there? The edge of the tree limb looks smoother than the edge of the shadow. Very distracting. Maybe another angle, different lighting, different exposure, would make it more obvious.

Thanks, Don. It was a very interesting day for shooting. The late September
sun was casting shadows all day and creating exposure problems all over
the place. But shooting in shadows also opens up a whole lot of nice possibilities, too, which I duly noted. To answer your question: it looks like
the shadow of a branch. Here's a pic from a slightly different perspective:

Rick,

The second photo helps to identify where that roof shadow comes from.

But the second photo lacks the composition merits of the first. I'd stay with the first one.

I'd love to see #1 in B&W or Sepia. (hint, hint, nudge, nudge, wink, wink)

Your wish is my... Tell me what you think, I'm not too sure about it.

I didn't like #2, either, Sailor.

I have some pictures of 19th century schools in black and white that I'm
meaning to post soon. I haven't looked at them yet, but I'm hoping they
look good.
