Ltd. or Inc. with new business?

Well I am in the beginning stages of registering my business and came across something that I do not know about. What are the major differences when registering a company if you choose ltd. or inc. ? If anyone knows I am interested in some feedback.

Did a quick google and found this on a business website, posted five days ago:

"there is no legal or practical difference between the two terms. It is purely a matter of style"

Might want confirmation on that though. Just in case.
