I am thinking I am going to order some Skyport Universals to take my Sigma 530 off camera. Will I need to also pick up a miniphone adapter to run the cord from the receiver to the flashgun? The Sigma doesn't have a plug in anywhere on it so I guess I just need to know what else to order along with the radio units to set this up. Thanks!

To connect the the Super Sigma to a Skyport you will need a FLASH hotshoe adapter (female) to mono miniphone plug (male).
Enjoy! Lon

Here's what you need.

Here's instructions on the required settings on your Sigma Super to make it work.

Note that your Vivitar 285HV could be connected to the Skyport receiver the same way, and the Sigma Super in optical slave mode will make a second light with little fuss.

thanks Lon and Curtis. Okay, Curtis, now you got my attention as it would save me a c-note on the seoncd receiver. Here's my concerns...I have heard that the Skyports can't/won't fire the Vivitar 285hv so I was going to buy another Sigma. Second concern is that I'll be shooting indoor sports which puts my lights above and behind me but not in a line with one another. Do you think I can still trigger the Sigma in OS mode with another flash from that configuration (basically, flashes mounted in the gym corners fanning over the top of the key). Last, won't the second slave trigger every time someone else strobes or fires flash or will switching to C1 or C2 eliminate that issue?

Sorry, I forgot about the 285HV compatibility issue. Here are a couple inexpensive solutions.
Option 1) A special adapter cord like this:

Or 2) an optical slave which connects to your 285HV with the standard sync cable:

Optical slaves work well in relatively small indoor spaces. However they will fire from someone else's camera, and probably not work well in a large space like a basketball court. If you want to use two off-camera flashes for sports, I would recommend a second Skyport receiver.

You should probably contact FlashZebra through his website and he will advise accordingly. Give him as much info abour your Vivitar as possible.
