Looking to pick up a new p&s that is around $200. Just sold my 20d since it was just collecting dust and now I just need something practical, yet still decent quality.
Cheaper the better :p

Pending your needs, I'd say SD850 IS or SX100. Both can be found around $250 and both great cameras. Also there is the A720 IS. What are you looking or? Compact? Zoom? Viewfinder? Need something to go on.

A570 IS + CHDK hack is what I'd get for a cheap go everywhere cam. $150 on Amazon right now. Quality looks very decent in test shots.

I just got my new Canon PowerShot SD850 IS for a few weeks, I think it is a great little convenient camera, which is able to be concealed easily, and taken about anywhere because it easily slips into a purse or pocket. Here is some more specs and reviews

It's also a great camera for taking indoor portraits with flash, as well as outdoor photos.

I know it's a Canon forum but I got a Panasonic DMC TZ3 at Amazon for under $250. 28-280mm 10X Leica zoom lens with image stabilization in the body and a 3" lcd. Like most p&s cameras it's not the best for low light but for a pocket-size camera it works pretty well.

Yeah, it's a nice camera but Panasonic has had issues for the low light situation. There IS though is sweet. I compared the SX100 and the TZ3 a lot while at CC and both were very comparable. Even the LZ3 (I think) and S5 were in some instances.

Edit the price.

Just looking for something compact, don't need anything special with the zoom or viewfinder, but prefer something I can use manual settings. I have had a A95 and G6 in the past for P&S and were pretty alright, so something around that quality or better is good.

Do you have any pictures? What is the CHDK hack?
