Bludomain is still advertising $800 websites for $400. Although it says "until Jan 1st 2008". Has anyone purchased a website from them after the 1st? Did they charge $400 or $800?
Also, I'm a little confused about the gallery limits. I'm assuming if the template says 6 galleries, you would be able to have 6 different galleries to show off your work using a slide show. For instance, a wedding gallery, portraits gallery, sports gallery, etc, etc. And then in the "client" section, it would be unlimited/limited (?) to the amount of galleries for your customers to proof/view their pictures and then purchase them? Can someone clarify this?

Also, any alternatives to Bludomain that are around the $400 price? I'm currently using Smugmug and have to renew my membership for $149. I'm thinking if I fork out a little more, I can do a LOT better than Smugmug. Any thoughts or suggestions on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed

the sale is over. they just have not changed their pricing, they are really behind because VH1 ran some promo stuff on them. each template states how many galleries it has. so if it says it has 6 galleries, it has 6 galleries.
client viewing galleries are unlimited.
they have some wonderful $100 templates that are really nice for the price.
i currently have two of their sites, they are really great. once you buy one of their premium templates, all their other templates are 50% off.

I just paid for the Audrey template. It was a $100 and I thought the look and feel were nicer than some of the $800 templates. I'll try to wait patiently for them to contact me. I've read some horror stories about their customer service, but I should be able to deal with it knowing it's only because they just got swamped.

you really can't go wrong - they got slammed from their christmas sale and then vh1 really put the pedal to the metal. just be patient - go to their blog because i believe there are some instructions there about getting yoru template, etc.
have fun customizing it!

I figured they'd honor the price. I know the sale was to end on the 1st, but if you put an "$800" template in your cart it still shows up at $400. To be honest, I went through all the $800 templates and thought it was too much and thought I'd just settle for a $100 template. Well, the $100 template I paid for is so much nicer, in my opinion, than the $800 templates. I got the Audrey by the way.
I got my email Friday night stating that my site would be ready no later than Midnight, Tuesday.:lol:

i agree, high price doesnt always mean better, they have a lot of very good templates that are very affordable. you can change it to suit your own taste and style. in fact, a lot of the lower priced templates used to be the higher priced ones. they have only recently changed their set up to have different prices.
