I had a phone call today from Parks Cameras (UK).
I am on their 12 week waiting list for both the 20D and 1D MkII.
They have phoned me 8 weeks early (while I'm still saving) and offered me either one!
I had to turn them down. Imagine how sick I feel! :(
On the bright side, I am coming to NY for a few days just before Christmas, so the money it's cost me to get there, I shall save on a visit to B and H!
Huzzar! There is a God! :D

Prepay for your camera and leave your credit cards at home when you go to B&H :P

Yeh but I have a crafty plan!
You see I'm still caught betweena rock and a hard place. I know the MkII is the one I should be going for but its about the money... (ain't it always)
So. I thought. Buy the 20D body here. Then come over to your place and do the deal on a couple of L lenses... say the 70-200 2.8 and a 17-40 F4 (I should like the 16-35 in my dreams). Post back the boxes and the instructions (as per a previous discusssion) and bobs your uncle! I am a fully equiped and ready to go enthusiast!
I do want the 1D MKII but something has to give!
Hey and I see the Ds is coming down here in preparation for the 1Ds MkII so I'm told.

If you want MKII like features and performance but at a better price, ever consider the good old reliable 1D? It's better then the 20D, not as good as the MKII and goes for around $2000.
Thats unless you need 8 MP and are not willing to settle for used equipment.
Cheers

MMM, nope. Not considered it as I've not seen much about it. You say better than the 20D.
Am I right its a 5 mega pixel? What are its strengths over the 20D?
:? :? :?
