I got Scott Kelby's Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers and finally got the time to sit down and try one of his skin smoothing techniques.
Ok, so first the original...

And the retouch...

Very well done. Looks exceptionally natural, without the grotesque plasticine look that some skin smoothing techniques can give. No critique necessary - you nailed it.

Perfect. Glad to see that his technique works, because I have that same book but haven't had to use any skin smoothing yet. :)

Dramatis,
I just did the SAME THING you did with the book and my first glamour shoot.... Which technique was it? The Glamour one on page 206 or the advanced one on 208?

It was a combination of the glamour technique and the freckle removing technique. I used healing brush to clean up the worst spots and then evened out the skin tone with the freckle technique.

Very natural looking, I had to scroll back to the original to see what was different. Well done.

I think you did a great job. I love his lightroom book. I will need to pick this one up too.
