OK, I asked for some advice on my posters and got some good feedback. How do you like the new poster (#1).
Thanks Joe

I didn't see the first posts but the first looks great. I'd buy it if I were Michael.

That first one youve posted in this thread is LIGHT YEARS better than your original IMO. Now if you could just find a picture where the ball and his foot arent so deformed from cutting...

Thanks, Michael is my son, so If he buys it, I pay for it, but I hope to sell several more. As far as the cut out, it was a quickie, trying out PSE 6 (I mainly use CS 2, but the cut-out tool is great).

The original one was just hard to see any one single thing. Everything just kid of ran together. Plus the font was really distracting to read.
This second one is much much better and FWIW, if you have picture where the ball is half buried in the field like that, you can always just cut another full ball from another pictures and put it in that one for the sake of the poster.

First one is very eye catching. It looks great. I would second the comment regarding cutting a pasting in another full ball.

The photos in the poster are great, but the design seems to be lacking something.
Are there any graphics designers out there to comment?
I'm not a graphic designer... but your poster design has too many competing focal points and too much symetry for my tastes.
That's my two cents... but keep having fun with it... that's what it's about!

As a graphic designer I agree with the above, too much symmetry and my eyes don't know where to land and stop to look, I just go back and forth between players. Also the text seems to be fuzzy and hard to read. One thing about text and photoshop is just because you can use a dozen cool filters doesn't mean it is always the "best" way or "coolest". Just keep the text simple with some more minor accents could work out better. I do a lot of sport poster for teams and players and get a lot of positive feedback. I will post some later :) Good luck.
