So far Ive been looking at reviews for the sony gps-cs1 and the gistek dpl700 does anyone have either and can comment? any other recommendations would also be helpful but ideally I want something small and easy to use :lol:

The Sony takes continuous readings, then the software matches up the readings with times of photos. Seems dumb, to me...more readings recorded than pictures taken; and if I recall correctly, readings are every 15 seconds. You need to have clock in camera synchronized with GPS clock, or else the Sony software can be totally wrong about the location of the camera for any specific photo.

The Gistek operates in a manner similar to the Sony. I haven't tried to compare the two for features. One review says this has a better chipset and software than the Sony

There is a Jobo GPS that plugs into the camera (hot shoe, IIRC) and records only when the camera is fired. So there is absolutely no opportunity for ambiguity in camera position for any shot! Disadvantage is having to deal with the bulk of the Jobo unit on the camera all the time (or a sync cord conection, if that is supported)
