In this new, young world of digital imagery, I believe that smoothness (and sharpness) is often overrated. As much as I appreciate and enjoy the modern aesthetic that is advanced in photography today, maybe a little exposure to grain (not "noise" - this was taken with an emulsion base that included silver halide) is a good thing. The grain here was enhanced to the annoyance of many and to the enjoyment of those few...I'm glad you liked it.

I like the grain. At first glance, I thought the wall was carpeted with something akin to office carpet lol. I think grain can enhance the art of a photo, in such a way that in certain instances it in itself becomes an artistic medium. This photo is very intriguing. Nice job!
