your blues look very unatural.
I guess you went overboard with the saturation.
After importing the image in PS, it looks much better and I bet what I saw in PS was much closer to what you had in front of you when editing the image.
The problem is: by increasing the saturation, you blues went out of the sRGB gamut, hence producing unpredictable effects when posted on the web (and also when printed). If you have PS3, you can check this with View/Gamut Warning Ctrl Shift Y.
I dont know what made you bring the blues out of gamut. Possibly an attempt at a bluer sky? You can have very nice sky by darkening it with a curve layer, and doing a gradient mask to merge with the rest of the image.
From the compositional point of view, the image is too busy to give a real focus on the boys group. I'd crop very severely the image if you have enough pixels to d that.

Wow thanks for the editing tips!! I only used the very basic editing tools and to be honest I'm terrible at PP and Iagree with you that I went a bit crazy with the saturation... wanted to bring out more on the boats etc...
compositional wise maybe I should have just stick with either the boys or the boats... I always make the mistake of trying to fit too much into one picture...
Again thanks for the C&C!! much appreciated!!

You can post your original image and set image editing okay in your user profile. I'm positive other POTNers will have a play with your image, and share their tips.
When you know you are working on saturation, and you don't want to go overboard, its advised to leave the gamut warning on all the time because being out of gamut is the ruin of the image: you cannot post it on the Internet, and you cannot print it. the only thing you can do is opening Photoshop to look at it again. Not a seductive destiny for an image you have worked on :)
