I saw this question posted in another forum and thought it was interesting. Will PSCS convert RAW files from the 20D or will I need an update from Adobe? As I recall the 1D Mark2 was not in the program either, can anyone comment on the RAW conversion performance with that camera? Thanks in advance for your replys.

No, PS CS cannot open 20D RAW files. You'll have to wait for the update from Adobe. See the following thread: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=43459

DPP is actually pretty good... it's just that once you have a program in your workflow it is hard to go back to Canon.. but DPP is definately worth a look.. especially if you are not allready "tied" to another application.

I use BreezeBrowser as well. My only complaint is that Chris Breeze is only making the downloads functional for about 2 months at a time while it is in Beta phase.

What is DPP?

Digital Photo Professional, the Canon software that you get with the 1Ds Mark II, 1D Mark II and 20D.

I didnt get anything called Digital Photo Professional with my 20D. I got EOS Digital Solutions disk with EOS viewer utility, EOS Capture, Photostitch and the drivers. Is this the same or am i missing something?

You should have received a black booklet (a bit smaller than the other manuals) with Digital Photo Professional ver. 1.1 on the title. Inside this maunal is the software.

Ah yes indeed I did! Missed that one I guess. went for the obvious cd's first. Thank you for pointing it out. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use it. It looks to be better than the viewer utility or are they completely different things?
