Having a go at shoting with onboard flash sheilding with a piece of white paper so is not so harsh. What do people think? I am never very happy with colours, all opinions and advice eagarly sought

I don't see a thing wrong with the colors.

The top picture has a pose that is questionable. The neck muscles are not normal looking; her gaze off to the ceiling serves no purpose, and the angle of her head is extreme and un-natural. The lighting is too flat.

On the other hand, the 2nd shot is just great. Excellent lighting, exposure, colors, composition - all great.

Congratulations on #2.

I understand.
When I was a senior in High School, you bought expensive corduroy trousers for school wear and then wrote all kinds of trash on them in Magic Marker. My only complaint with modern fashion is the "Gothic" types:lol:
