Took these photos whith my new tamron 28-75mm. No edit.
I'm not sure about the composition. Should I crop away the right part of photo so only a small part of that ear is visible?
Any other comments?

The light is nice, I think the bright part of the background top left distracts too much.
I think it needs PP as her eyes need to be sharper, at that age her skin will still be under waranty so you can get sharper with the image. Nose and Lips in No1 look right on the edge of Focus. I think No1 is the better due to the tilt of her head working with the crop.
I think it is a probable keeper.

I think both shots are rendered much too bright. The highlights are blown in many areas.
There is too much flat lighting. Her facial contours would be better revealed if the lighting provided some soft shadows diagonally across the face. In other words, get rid of the flash - it's not helping.
Also, I would crop to get rid of the mass of white to the left of the picture.
I think she would look better in a "Portrait" orientation, and I think the top of her head should be in the picture.
Otherwise, she is a very cute model and very photogenic.

Apart from the white stripe behind her head and the bright part of the background, which prbably needs to go anyway... I can't see where this image has many blown highlights? The histogram shows a very small proportion of clipped pixels for both shots.

This histogram from the second picture is my basis for saying that the highlights are blown out.

To be even more specific, it's the red channel that is blown. The luminance histogram looks good, but it doesn't tell the whole story.

Ok i see that now, yes the red channel is a bit pushed.
I appears red biased on my work monitor anyway (LCD) my calibrated Trinitron CRT at home displays it differently.
Thanks for that, could still work i feel...
