One recent early morning this is what I did after a sleepless night. Actually, my wife is getting back at me with here own sound effects after all the snoring I've inflicted upon her over the years . Turn about is fairplay I suppose.

I got out of bed earlier than usual and hit one of my favorite places in the Flats to see how the winter sunrise would affect the mood along the river. The original color is quite attractive, but the B/W takes on a whole new almost creepy aspect. The only thing missing is lightning bolts and the doctor's monster. I was very pleased with the results - hope you enjoy it also. - Stu

That is a very odd cast to the light.

Nice balance on the exposure and B&W conversion.

Very nice, the sky was right on cue here for the mood!

Yes it was Ben, I agree ;). Part of it is attributable to the sodium vapor yard lights out of site behind the foremost building. But it was a clear sky and the eastern sun was directly to the left. I did have to play with exposure a bit in PS creating a number of exposure adjustment layers before I got things the way I wanted.

Nice balance on the exposure and B&W conversion.

Good morning Jake - and thank you ;). Yes, I was pretty fortunate about that morning light. The Flats are lower than the rim of the city, so when the light "happens" it occurs very quickly and the mood can be gone in an instant. I've been studying this area for some months and felt this might be an interesting morning.
