The company that I work for has asked me to take a photo that will be used on our holiday cards this year! We had decided on using my polar bear picture until someone turned it vertical and thought that it reminded them of a certain male body part. Now they have ruined that picture for me  .

Here is the picture in case I have peaked anyone's curiosity:

So, now I need to find a good picture that will say "holiday season" without offending various groups of people. We have customers all over the world so we want to make sure we are sensitive to various religious beliefs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is my very first "assignement" so to speak. Right now I am thinking of taking a close up shot of an evergreen tree with a red bow tied in it.

I apprecaite any suggestions. This should be a lot of fun!

Thanks,
Tim

That's a shame. It's a wonderful photo, and I'd be a bit worried about the people (person) that made that association. I'd love to see how they'd handle a Rorschach (ink blot) test.

Reminds me of an old joke (much shortened and cleaned up a bit):

A psychiatrist is administering an ink blot test to a patient. Every image evokes the same question and response:
Psychiatrist: "What do you see?"
Patient: "Two people making love."

After several tries with the same answer every time, the psychiatrist says to the patient, "Forgive me, but you seem to be terribly preoccupied with sex."

Indignantly, the patient replies, "What are you talking about? You're the one drawing the dirty pictures!"

Not the funniest story I’ve ever heard, but it seems appropriate to your situation.

Sounds like someone in the office is a lot like the guy in Belmondos joke... just a little preoocupied..

I never would have "seen" this resemblance. You really need t work to hard.

I didn't see it either until it was pointed out to me. Unfortunately the guy at the office that is a little preoccupied is the owner of the company!

Some people's minds just sit in the gutter 8) . What about a seasonal flower or shrub (chrysanthenum, holly, or mistletoe)? A seasonal landscape might work as well, but it's a bit too early for snow.

Is it completely out of the question to not turn it vertcal? I have seen horizontal cards before. Frame it and put text on it to ensure that it is viewed horizontal and it will be fine.

Gorgeous photo by the way.

Thanks for the compliment! The card was going to be a horizontal card, but the owner looked at then tilted his head and next thing you know, the picture is no longer going to be used.

While I am disappointed as I think it is a nice picture it will be fun coming up with a new photo. At least I still get a shot at making the card.
