I've started working on shooting glass lately, while reading Light Science and Magic: what do y'all think? What should change? I tried putting some nice broad highlights on the flaming glass shot, but as it turns out I'm gonna have to get a softbox for that one: umbrellas reveal themselves perfectly in the glass...

I think they both look good except for the clear cut out line around the blue flame and the speckle in the bottom right of the glass on the first shot.

Thanks :) The line around the flame is just sloppy PP, it's fixed now, just not re-uploaded

Overall nice. You've got a noticeable hotspot on the white one near the bottom right where the bowl rounds under to the stem. The white one looks like the horizon is slightly off needing a little rotation to the right.
I think the black one is awesome. I've got a photo club theme of "Fire and Ice" coming up later this year so I'll definately be setting fire to something myself!

Ooohh, a flame on a block of ice. Gonna have to try that, thank for the idea :) And darn, I was hoping no one would notice that glare :/ I was working on the floor with about five feet of space in my living room, so I'm afraid I ended up with the light too close to the glass, and no gobo around to fix it (black cards with velcro are moving up on my to-buy list)
