Windows XP drivers for Digital Ixus

I have recently upgraded my PC to Windows XP Pro, when i connect my DigitaL Ixus and load drivers i get the following error "the class installer has denied the request to install or upgrade this device".

I have downloaded the latest drivers from Canon and they do exactly the same.

Does any body have any ideas on this?

The only thing I could suggest is to get all your Windows updates. Xp isn't without it's bugs but the updates do fix them.

Uninstall all your USB ports via Device Manager. Shut down computer. Restart and let Xp or 98 reinstall the software. This worked for me!
