This photo was taken just the other day in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Any thoughts on how I could have made this better?

Pretty pic, Malok. Looks like sugar. I would have chosen a darker farme,
though.

Like Rick mentioned, I think a darker frame would be appropriate. It would make the subject stand out.
Maybe like this:

I would have liked to see a hair more of the tree covered ridge at the bottom of the picture. On the bottom left, it just barely dips out of the frame, then comes back into it, leaving a bit of a gap down there to wonder about... sort of takes attention away from my main subject.

Malok,

The colors look a little "off" to me. The snow espeically. I'm guessing the trees below the mountain are also covered in snow, however they've been rendered gray, and the snow on the mountain seems a touch off white to me. Now it could just be my monitor, as the one I surf forums on isn't calibrated, but to me it looks like some WB compensation is in order.

As is, it is very nice shot. If it were me I would get rid of the frame because it simply takes up room on the page that could be better occupied by the photo itself. (I didn't do this, but be willing to wager that if you count up the pixels you'd find the frame takes up 25 percent of the image area - I would rather have image in the image area.)

You asked how to improve this shot. I played around and found that dropping the brightness 15 percent in boosting the contrast 30 percent gave a more striking presentation - to my eyes at least.

As I have been doing a lot of landscape lately I know that this is not easy. Well done - just a little tweaking is all that remains.

I would have tried to wait for the clouds to move on by a little more.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I learned a few things and have a few more ideas for how to approach this next time.

Many thanks!!
