Am I the only one or is this part of the ongoing problem (lockups etc)?
Custom function 13 option 2 (Quick control Direct)
My 20 will not work in this setting. The quick control knob has no effect.
option 0 normal is ok
option 1 Multi-Controller Direct is ok
option 2 Quick Control Direct will not work
If I am the only one having this problem its going back to B&H. If this is part of everyones problem I'll wait for Canon to get us a fix. I love the 20 but the little problems scare me. Is there more to come? :?
Anyone else have this?

No worries mate!
The power switch has 3 positions. Off>ON>Quick Control.
In order to use that dial, you have to switch the power swith all the way to the top, above ON, where that line is..
This is the same for changing aperture in M mode :D
Four words... RTFM... Read That Funky Manual
Now I'm off to play with my new toy :)
(And then read my own funky manual)

Try it with CF# 13 - 1
..and CF# 4 - 1
It's awesome!
If you press the "eraser head" (multicontroller? What Multi.. all it does it change the focus point.. that is a sigular cotroller.. not a multi one??) ..
any way press the eraser in the center you get Center point.. if you press the + button you get all 9 AF points... and back and forth.. not to mention that controlling the individula AF points with the "Eraser head" is just awesome :)

What will this accomplish? I have read the manual but am not quite clear what the result will be?

I was allready editing my post ...
Of course cf#4 - 1 sets focus lock to the reaer * button instead of the half shutter press... this is true of all EOS digitals thus far. (except maybe Rebel?)

According to the 20D manual, you can use the multi-controller to:
1) Select an AF point,
2) Set white balance correction,
3) Scroll around a magnified image display, and
4) Move the trimming frame for direct printing.
Yup, that sound like a multi-controller alright. :D

...Aha.. it is a multi controller then.. and I'm forgetfull.. :? as I allready used it to toy with the white balance thing...
But lets be real.. were only going to USE it for focus point selection,.. right? ..

Nope. I'm going to use it for AF point selection (love that feature) and for scrolling around the magnified photo to check (as best I can on an LCD) focus. Doubt I'll use it much for white balance correction, but it's great for the other two features.

I was just out playing with the camera and discovered that. I LOVE that feature!!!! But, how do you get it to go back to use all the focus points with that method?

Wonder if anybody's going to come out with a hack that will allow you to play a mini video game on the 20D now that it has a decent joystick. Could be very useful during those times, you know, when trying to be one with nature and waiting for birds to land nearby.

Yeah, right, I can see it now... SOMEONE will complain about the lag time from PAC-MAN mode to shoot mode... :P
But seriously folks... I thought that I had issues too since I could not change the aperture... Then realized I had the dial turned off.
