View Full Version : WORLD WIDE PHOTO WEEK: PART 95 -- Food Industry
BLS
14th of January 2008 (Mon), 07:41
The theme for this week is "Food Industry." Interpret this any way you like, as different and unusual interpretations are always welcome.
Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Crummy shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e.,embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the rules can be found here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...ad.php?t=51049 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51049)
That's it! Have fun!

Interesting one ... and let's hope we can all muster up something more interesting than shots of MuckDonalds :-)

Thanks Barbara.
I really hope I can get round to taking part this week. This is a good theme for me, as I work in part of the food industry - well, delivering it, anyway. Should give me some opportunity, surely ;)

I made some time to shoot. Here's what I found.
Some of the food industry starts at places like this.

Am I the only one to post? Was the theme that bad?

Should we think about new themes? Anyone have any suggestions?
Or has this thread died?
Here are 2 more. The food industry sometimes uses trucks to distribute goods. Some of the trucks are big:

And some are small:

i likee all them shots ... interesting slices of life over the pond. I would have snapped something but am way too busy at the moment. Even this weekend I have 'duties' to do!! Seems whatever we do to revive the thread it doesn't get much beyond a few pages each week these days. Maybe it has died; maybe people don't shoot no more, they just chat; maybe folks forget or are too busy a lot of the time ... I dunno.

I don't think it was a bad theme but we have had some inclement weather this week and I had a shoot yesterday plus a birthday thing today. I might be able to get some shots but I won't be able to just shoot for the theme this week.
As far as next week goes I can't think of anything specific at the moment.

First and second shot were my favorite. I really liked the background of the first shot.

I just found this thread. I had gotten in to it WAY back and had forgotten about it. Not sure if I will be able to with this one, but will subscribe to some future ones. I know when this first started, it was a good kick-in-the-pants to get out and shoot a specific thing.
The weather here is pretty cold, it is -20C right now and is not to warm up too much today.
Thanks for letting me know someone's still out there.
Here are some ideas:
1. The Street Where You Live
2. Sweet
3. Red
Some other thoughts;
4. One of your favourite things
5. Fluffy
6. Beauty in something not thought of as beautiful
7. Floating
8. Your Vehicle
9. Toys

A little snapshot with my old Pentax 50mm 1.4 which I like to play with now and again. Maybe a bit wasted in a shot of some rice and a wine glass but there ya go ;-)

Yeah!!!! We're still alive! Lots of posts to prove it! Makes me happy.
Did you find any of the ideas for next week especially appealing? If so, please say so 'cause I need to start the new thread soon -- it's getting late Down Under.

^^ We haven't done a color in a while. that would be good for those that cannot get out to shoot due to weather and leave a wide open opportunity for those lining in the summer months. I vote RED.

I like BearLeeJim's idea number 6 which is kinda 'Hidden Beauty' ... it is very flexible, so indoors and out, people, plants, colours, B&W, all sorts of possibilities even a shot of ones own ass :-) Ok, joking there, but I think I can easy grab a hidden beauty shot! Otherwise, I have no real preference.
