Well spent Sunday at Croft Circuit for the Jack Frost Stages Rally, organised by Darlington Motor Club and the first round of the NE Tarmac Championship. A capacity entry of 90 cars meant non stop action all day. Actually only saw Simon from the forum, the others must have been hiding.

Most taken with a Canon 1DMKIII and a Canon 300mm f2.8, number 7 was the 70-200 and number 8 was with the 17-40

Lee Tindall normally co drives this Skoda Octavia WRC but his driver decided to let him have a go and he brought it home in 4th position on his first event

I just like the look on David Cox's face in the passenger seat (A touch of flash was used here because the light was very dull)

And a MKII when it got dark on a very tricky double hairpin

Lovely shots as usual Ian. A bit gutted because i was planning on going on Sunday, all the gear packed, batteries charged up even though i've been full of flu but woke up at 6.30am and felt terrible not a happy bunny

Nice to see an Octavia out and an awesome result for Lee. Love the MkI cocking a wheel and the MkII going x-country. The S1600 Punto looks a lovely piece of kit, did it sounds as good

Cracking stuff Ian :)

Mr Procter was a bit too keen on one of the early stages. Following another slower car into the pit straight section he rear-ended it, much to the amusement of those watching. Someone who i won't name observed that it wasn't the BTCC.. :D

A lovely set of shots Ian.

The punto was an impressive car, it sounded fantastic.

I like shot 7 of the Evo, a good expression caught and put into context by the car leaning hard over. I never noticed the folded in wing mirors, anything for a tenth of a second. :)

Nice selection Ian. However, I think that #8 is one of the best after dark rally shots I've seen. I think you've lit the scene up just right, so it conveys the fact that the car was tackling the stage as night was falling, but there's enough residual light to be able to see the spectators in the background watching what's going on. I don't even find the reflective bands on the coat in the background obtrusive, as it shows the conditions etc at the time of the picture. Really nicely done.

Simon.

I would be able to tell these were yours even without the watermark on, (that's a good thing, BTW). Lovely stuff as usual. I particularly like the FIAT shot.

Oh yes it sounded great:D, if they can get some gravel suspension from Italy in time for the Riponian they are going to run as course car, hope you're feeling better soon

Thanks John, the wing mirrors on the Evo aren't actually folded in, they are carbon fibre low profile mirrors to reduce drag

Yup he came fourth and Lee's co-driver for the day was actually the mechanic, out on his first ever rally

Thanks for all the other comments they are appreciated.
